The story of The Princess Bride () has everything: action, adventure, romance, and battles of wits. One of my favorite scenes from this film is the picnic with Vizzini, Princess Buttercup, and the Man in Black where Vizzini attempts to outsmart his adversary and eventually loses his life as a result. His arrogant temperament and the way he treated his crew led to his demise. I always found this juxtaposition between Vizzini and the blindfolded princess to be a fascinating one as her blindfold and robes always reminded me of justice, showing how we treat others has a wider impact than we ever expect. The title for this piece comes from the scene which is depicted, alluding to themes of suicide and cynicism.
